Many times youth and adults with disabilities, because of the vulnerabilities that some experience, do not get to explore enough options and make enough choices. But self-determination teaches us that the road to a successful adulthood includes the ability to be autonomous.
Autonomy is not a skill that comes natural to everyone. You have to realize that you have control, be able to understand yourself and what you can do and want to do, and be able to express yourself.
